Our Team Shannon McLaughlin Shannon is a legal problem solver with substantial experience and expertise in Property transactions, Commercial Leasing, Estate Planning and Administration, as well as all forms of Commercial work. With almost 10 years experience practicing in all areas of commercial law Shannon is driven to obtain the best outcome for his clients. Shannon was admitted to practice in 2005 after completing his five year articled clerkship and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws (majoring in the Commercial Stream) from the Queensland University of Technology and an MBA from Bond University. Shannon is a passionate Gold Coaster having been born in Southport Hospital. Shannon’s Mother and Grandfather were also raised on the Gold Coast and Shannon is pleased to call himself a fourth Generation Gold Coaster. Straight after school Shannon obtained a job as an Articled Clerk at a highly respected Gold Coast Firm before being admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Ashley Cronin Ashley uses his experience as a Solicitor and a Chartered Accountant to solve your financially related problems including Insolvency and Bankruptcy, and Restructuring alternatives, as well as Debt Recovery, Commercial transactions and complex Estate Planning. Ashley’s experience as a Chartered Accountant provides him with a unique insight into the financial elements of your matter, including the identification of insolvency and other accounting principles as well as tax issues and other related issues that may affect your matter. Ashley is focused on delivering the best possible result for his clients and in particular delivering a result that represents value for his clients in commercial matters. Ashley was born and raised on the Gold Coast before training as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in Brisbane and then working for various corporations including Xstrata Coal, Oyster Bay Wines and Barclays Bank in London. He enjoys surfing and fishing and is a strong supporter of Gold Coast development initiatives. Ashley was admitted as a solicitor in 2012 and has been qualified as a Chartered Accountant since 2007. With a focus on building long term relationships, Kent has a reputation as someone who puts the client first. Roly O’Regan Consultant – Head of Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Roly advises on all types of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including disputes related to commercial contracts, breach of directors’ duties, body corporate and property disputes. His experience includes assisting with trial preparation and appearing in matters before QCAT, Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court and facilitating out of court settlements. Roly holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the Queensland University of technology and is admitted a Solicitor in Queensland and in the High Court of Australia. Roly also sits as a judicial Member of Queensland Cricket Conduct Tribunal. History of the Firm The firm was founded on the Gold Coast by Bruce Graham in 2007. Bruce had previously established a firm in Brisbane in 1979 and has consistently provided quality service to clients in the South East Queensland, Papua New Guinea and Northern New South Wales regions for over 25 years. Due to illness, Bruce recently sold the practice to an incorporated legal entity, KBJ Legal Pty Ltd who will continue to practice as CJM Lawyers. The firm has employed local solicitors to continue Bruce’s legacy in providing expert legal services with a personalised local touch.
